About the job:

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated individual to join SAS Federal’s practice as the U.S. DOJ and Intelligence Community Account Executive to identify and pursue opportunities where SAS’ portfolio of analytics and big data solutions can drive better outcomes for the government and the citizens and stakeholders it serves. This individual will lead and manage the relationship for SAS’s U.S. Department of Justice and Intelligence Community territories. This position will align internal resources and partners to sell and support SAS Solutions with a focus on growing overall revenue while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.  

 

This individual will lead and offer strategic guidance on government/industry/business viewpoints on SAS offerings and work to align their goals specific to the national security market, along with appropriate representation of that vision to internal and external audiences. 

  

This individual will bring to bear valuable knowledge and relationships to maintain and expand SAS’ existing footprint across these accounts while also creating new revenue and partnering opportunities for the future. 

  

The successful candidate will have skills and experience in analytics, technology modernization and/or information technology, consulting, and government policy. He or she will have exceptional oral and written communication skills, knowledge of federal sales and contracting processes and the ability to help government agencies in solving complex big data analytics problems. Someone who is easy to work with and has a passion for the job by providing strategic advice, guidance and directives to internal and external stakeholders, in addition to managing all account-related functions. 

 

 

As an Account Executive , you will:  

  • Own responsibility for sales of SAS software products, solutions and services in a high volume, multi-tasking environment to prospective and current accounts 
  • Provides a lead role in all aspects of account management. 
  • Formulate Strategic Account Plans, which outline strategies and measures to secure and develop the level of revenue within the account, in coordination with all areas of the business. 
  • Ensure execution of the above plan to sell software solutions and consulting services within the assigned accounts; responsible for achieving an individual sales quota. 
  • Manage relationships at the executive level within the account. 
  • Stay abreast of federal policies which drive the development and usage of analytics across these departments and agencies. 
  • Maintain accurate revenue forecasts. 
  • Work closely with pre-sales resources and executives to facilitate timely response to highly qualified, high revenue potential opportunities. 
  • Fulfill wide range of requests for information from prospective customers. Qualifies level of opportunity and resources required. 
  • Prospect within a territory or account to uncover business needs. 
  • Implement aspects of territory and account management and development; identifies accounts with high "close" potential, qualifies, advances opportunity through milestone steps of sales cycle and forecast time frames to close business within Orion. 
  • Work closely with pre-sales resources and executives to facilitate timely response to highly qualified, high revenue potential opportunities. 
  • Prepare standard quotations and proposal information as needed; works with other departments to create and finalize contracts and set time schedules for delivery services. 
  • Follow up with customers to track satisfaction levels and to discover additional revenue opportunities. 
  • Develop a basic understanding of company pricing, licensing procedures and approvals matrix

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 (or more) years of experience working in the Federal Government industry, experience facilitating large government programs with multi-agency or multi-entity coordination or supporting sales efforts for complex integrated systems.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Experience working in and/or selling to the national security territories (DOD or IC). 
  • Experience presenting to executives, government leaders, and elected officials.  
  • Experience with federal procurement processes and federal government sales cycles. 
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate territory dynamics and develop a sales plan at both the territory and individual client level. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate revenue forecasts for software and services. 
  • Work location of Washington, DC metro area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Experience with Sales Operations, Forecasting, and Pipeline Management. 
  • Consulting background in the federal government highly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of analytics solutions and/or Cloud and services strongly preferred.  
  • Knowledge of advanced strategic sales techniques; knowledge of software acquisition cycles and buying influences preferred. 
  • Proficiency in account planning and account management preferred. 
  • Ability to generate new business through strategic-based selling and managing relationship with key customers. 
  • Ability to anticipate internal and external business issues that will impact sales targets and business development plans; and to develop contingency plans to address issues as they arise. 
  • Ability to apply contractual & pricing policies to a client situation with full appreciation of implications and commercial risk. 
  • Software sales management and leadership experience
